Tarragona

In Tarragona, a World Heritage City, history comes to life with every step. It’s Roman history, medieval legacy, and Catalan tradition all in one. Tarragona is one of the cities with the highest concentration of Roman archaeological sites—many of which can be visited. Highlights include the Roman amphitheatre, the circus, the praetorium, the theatre, and the Les Ferreres aqueduct.
It’s a city open to the Mediterranean, where you can reach the beach with a short walk from the historic center. With around 15 kilometers of coastline, its beaches offer fine sand and gentle slopes.
Tarragona, especially its Old Town, is a charming city filled with terraces overlooking monuments steeped in history, in places like Plaça de la Font, Plaça del Fòrum, and Plaça del Rei. To end the day, you can stroll along the Rambla Nova—home to most modern shops—and enjoy a dinner featuring the finest traditional cuisine.
